  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

    In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients.

    Add milk and shortening and beat for 2 minutes.

    Add eggs one at a time.

    Add flavoring and lemon juice.

    Beat until mixed.

    Pour into greased and floured tube pan and bake at 325° for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done.
