Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. very warm water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 5 to 7 c. flour

    Scald buttermilk.

    Add to butter, sugar and salt.

    Place in a large bowl.

    Cool to warm. Add dissolved yeast and eggs.

    Stir in flour mixed with the soda and salt.

    Knead.

    Grease dough with butter.

    Let rise in warm place until double in size.

    Knead down. Shape into rolls.

    Let rise again until double.

    Bake at 375° until golden brown.
