- 1 baked 9 inch pie shell
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed
- 5 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Mix flour with sugar, salt, and beaten egg yolks.

2Stir in milk a little at a time so the mixture won't be lumpy.

3Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

4Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla, cool.

5Beat egg whites until foamy, add sugar gradually and beat until stiff, but not dry.

6Pour over cooled filling into shell.

7Cover with meringue and bake at 325-350 degrees until golden brown.
