- 4 c. applesauce
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 (9-inch) pie shells
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. cream or milk
Directions

1In saucepan, mix applesauce, salt, flour, sugar and spices. Stir and cook over moderately low heat, about 15 to 20 minutes or until thickened.

2Cool to room temperature.

3Spoon filling into shell.

4Combine sour cream and vanilla.

5Spread over filling.

6Roll out pastry and put over pie.

7Seal edges and prick top.

8Bake at 400° for 35 minutes.

9Cool pie for 20 minutes.

10Mix powdered sugar and cream to a smooth paste.

11Glaze top crust.
