Butterscotch Pie(Makes 2)

  • 1/2 c. cornstarch*
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 12 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. whole milk
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 small pkg. butterscotch pieces
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix cornstarch, sugar, salt and milk.

    Cook over moderate heat until thickened, stirring constantly.

    Add a small amount to beaten yolks.

    Return to hot mixture.

    Cook 1 minute.

    Add butter, vanilla and butterscotch pieces.

    Mix well.

    Pour into baked pie shells.
