- 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2In a small bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

3In a medium bowl, beat the egg. Add sugar gradually. Beat until light and fluffy. Add melted butter and blend together. Alternately add flour and buttermilk. Stir until mixed together. Lastly, add walnuts which have been dusted with flour.

4Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

5Bake 1 hour or until done.
