- cabbage
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. canned tomatoes
- 1 1/2 c. hot water
- 2 medium onions, chopped fine
- 1/2 c. uncooked rice
- 2 Tbsp. chopped mint
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Wash the cabbage; cut the stem end and core.

2Put in a large kettle; cover with boiling salted water and cook until the leaves are loose enough to separate with a fork, about 20 minutes (more or less, depending upon size).

3Remove the cabbage; drain and separate the leaves.

4Or use one 15 1/2-ounce jar grape leaves.
