  • 1 lb. ground round (no fat)
  • 1 medium head cabbage, cut into 1/2-inch squares
  • 5 ribs celery, cut
  • 5 carrots, cut
  • 2 medium onions, cut
  • 5 cloves garlic, cut, or 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 (15 oz.) cans chili beans
  • 1 (46 oz.) cans V-8 juice
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes, cut with juice in blender
  • 1 Tbsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. sweet basil
  • 1 Tbsp. instant chicken bouillon
  • 6 c. water (maybe more)

    Brown ground beef.

    Saute cabbage, celery, onions, carrots and garlic in butter in big pan.

    Add everything else and let cook for 1 hour.
