Cabbage Casserole

  • 1 medium sized head cabbage (about 1 1/2 lb.)
  • 1 (10 oz.) can cream of chicken soup (undiluted)
  • 1 (5 oz.) jar processed Cheddar cheese spread
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Cut up cabbage, removing hard core.

    Place cabbage in boiling water and parboil 5 minutes; drain.

    Alternate layers of cabbage, soup and cheese in a greased casserole.

    Season and sprinkle with bread crumbs.

    Dot with butter and bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes in a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
