  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 lb. ground meat (lean)
  • 1/2 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 small can tomatoes

Directions

    Wilt cabbage in large pot of hot water.

    Mix ground meat, rice, egg, salt and pepper.
  3. 3
    Line bottom of pot with the small cabbage leaves.
  4. 4
    Put a large tablespoon of mixture in center of leaves and fold over one end; cover with water and tomato sauce. Simmer over low heat for one hour.

    Put sauerkraut and tomatoes on top of rolls and simmer 45 minutes more.
