Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 heads cabbage
  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, cut up
  • 1 clove garlic, cut up
  • 1 1/2 c. Minute rice (uncooked) or 1 to 1 1/2 c. regular already cooked
  • 4 or 5 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 qt. tomatoes (more or less as desired)
  • 1 large can tomato paste
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar

Directions

    Mix all together except last 3 ingredients.

    Steam cabbage a few minutes so they will roll easy.

    Scoop large spoonful of meat mixture on cabbage leaf and roll.

    Put a few tablespoons of sauce in roasting pan, then place cabbage rolls in pan.

    Sprinkle brown sugar on top of rolls.

    Cover with tomato and tomato paste mixture. Cover with lid.

    Set oven at 300° to 350° for about 3 to 4 hours if Minute rice is used or 2 hours if cooked rice is used.
