Ingredients

  • 1/2 head cabbage, shredded
  • carrots and celery, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 6 c. (49 oz.) chicken broth
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 c. tomato paste (18 oz.)
  • 1 to 2 c. water

Directions

    Combine all ingredients, except ground beef and tomato paste. Bring to a boil and simmer 1 hour.

    Brown ground beef; drain and add to soup with tomato paste and water.

    Simmer 15 minutes.
