  • 1 lb. beef stew meat, cubed
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium head green cabbage
  • 3 carrots, cut up
  • 3 medium potatoes, cut up
  • 1/2 c. tomatoes (canned)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

Directions

    Brown meat in small amount of fat.

    Add onion and cook until meat is about half done.

    Cut cabbage in chunks and add with the carrots, tomatoes and potatoes.

    Season to taste with salt, pepper and cayenne.

    Cook, tightly covered; add enough water to cover meat.

    Cook over low heat about 2 hours.
