  • 1 lime, preferably Key lime, rinsed
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine, preferably merlot
  • 2 ounces (1/4 cup) cachaca

Directions

    Cut a thin slice off top and bottom of lime.

    Quarter lime and cut out pithy white core.

    Place lime quarters in a cocktail shaker, add sugar and mash with a muddler.

    Add 4 ice cubes and stir.

    Add wine and cachaca, shake and pour into an old-fashioned glass.
