- 1 pound pinto beans bag dry
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon basil ground
- 1/2 teaspoon ground oregano
- 4 cups water
- 1 ham hock
Directions

1Soak beans in cold water for 12 hours to clean the beans

2Combine all spices together into zip lock bag and shake well to blend all together

3Once beans are cleaned mix into your slow cooker or pot

4Mix in 4 cups of water

5Mix your spices into the pot with your beans and water

6Add the ham hock (this isn't necessary but adds much more flavor)

7Cook for at least 5 hours or until beans are tender as you'd like.

8Serve with cornbread or whatever sides you'd like!
