  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 1 15/16 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup superfine sugar
  • 5 3/8 tablespoons milk plus more as needed
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • vegetable oil

Directions

    Open the vanilla pod and extract the seeds.

    Sift the flour and mix with the baking powder, salt, nutmeg, vanilla seeds, and sugar.

    Separately, mix the milk, yogurt, and egg.

    Mix the solids with the liquids with an electric mixer. The batter will be thick.

    While still stirring, add more milk until the batter is sticky and fluid.

    Place the batter in a pastry bag.

    Spread butter on parchment paper. Make the doughnuts and place on the parchment to handle easily.

    Heat the oil on low heat and fry the doughnuts for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.
