Campfire Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 head of iceburg lettuce
  • 3 x or possibly 4 ribs of celery
  • 3/4 c. frzn Green peas
  • 2 x -3 chicken breasts, cooked and cut into pcs.
  • 1 sm package chow mein crunchy noodles
  • 1 x -2 teaspoon soy sauce (more or possibly less to taste)
  • 2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp garlic pwdr (more or possibly less to taste) dressing will be fairly thick.

Directions

    Mix mayonnaise, soy sauce and garlic in a small bowl, set in refrigerator to let the flavors blend.

    Place peas in metal colander and run warm water over them to thaw, set aside.

    Wash and tear up lettuce into a large bowl for salad.

    Slice celery and add in to lettuce.

    Add in cut up chicken and peas, mix well.

    Use the Chinese noodles as your croutons.

    This makes several servings of salad.

    Helpful hint: It is easier to put the dressing on your salad before you add in the Chinese noodles, the dressing is thick.

    Do not add in the noodles to the large salad, let everyone add in their own because the noodles will get soggy.
