- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. dates
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
- 2 tsp. butter
- powdered sugar
Directions

1Cook together sugar, dates and milk until mixture forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water (236°).

2Remove from heat; set pan in bowl of cold water and cool to lukewarm.

3Add chopped nuts and butter.

4Beat until thick and entirely cold.

5Turn onto board dusted thickly with powdered sugar and knead until it will mold well.

6Roll into a long cylinder, about 1-inch in diameter and let stand 24 hours.

7When wanted, cut into slices.
