  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 12 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 12 teaspoons baking powder
  • 12 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 14 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 egg whites
  • 34 cup sugar

Directions

    To make the base: cream the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl.

    add the egg yolks and mix well.

    add the sifted flour and baking powder and mix well.

    press into a greased jelly roll pan.

    to make the caramel filling: combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and stir over low heat until dissolved.

    do not allow to boil.

    spread over the base.

    to make the meringue: whip the egg whites until stiff but not dry.

    gradually add the sugar, beating continuously.

    spoon over the caramel.

    oven for 50 minutes.
