  • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
  • 1 (18 oz.) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Directions

    Grease and flour 9 x 13-inch dish.

    Combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

    Melt in microwave.

    Combine cake mix, margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, nuts and vanilla.

    Spread into pan and bake 12 minutes.

    Remove and pour caramel mix over and sprinkle with chocolate chips.

    Bake 20 minutes or more at 350°. Cool and cut into squares.
