- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 c. margarine
- pinch of cinnamon
- 3 oz. currants
- egg and milk to mix
- pinch of salt
- pinch of mixed spices
- 3 oz. brown sugar
- 1 oz. chopped peel
Directions

1Rub fat into flour.

2Add other ingredients and mix with milk or egg and milk to a pastry consistency.

3Roll out and cut into rounds.

4Heat griddle for 5 minutes.

5Cook both sides at reduced heat.

6Serve hot dusted with caster sugar or cold spread with butter.
