  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light or dark corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 6 qt. popped corn

    Mix first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes over medium heat, without stirring. Remove from heat; add vanilla and then soda. Stir quickly and pour over corn quickly. Place corn in 2 or 3 large baking pans that have been well-greased. (Corn will at first look like it is not well coated, but this will even out during the baking process.) Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring well every 15 minutes. After corn cools, store in tight container.
