- 10 c. popcorn, popped
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/4 c. Karo syrup
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. pecan halves
Directions

1Wash the seeds to get rid of any pumpkin strings that might be stuck to them.

2Put the seeds in a steamer (a pan with holes, inside another pan).

3The idea is that you want the steam to cook the seeds, but you don't want the seeds to be in the water because that washes some of the vitamins out.

4Keep the pot covered and cook for about 30 minutes.

5Add more water when you need it.

6Dump the seeds on a paper towel and pat them dry.

7Spread them out on a cookie sheet.

8Pour on a little vegetable oil, just enough to make the seeds shiny when you stir them around.

9Sprinkle on some salt.

10Put the seeds in an oven set at 300° for about 1/2 hour, until they are golden brown and crispy.
