- 4 quart popped popcorn
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light or dark corn syrup
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions

1Spray large shallow roasting pan with cooking spray.

2Add popcorn and place in preheated 250F oven while preparing caramel.

3Mix brown sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt in a heavy 2-quart saucepan.

4Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium heat.

5Boil 5 minutes without stirring.

6Remove from heat.

7Stir in baking soda and vanilla; mix well.

8Pour syrup over warm popcorn, stirring to coat evenly.

9Bake for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

10Remove from oven and spread on foil that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

11Cool; break apart.

12Store in tightly covered container.
