- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 1/2 c. hot water
- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 3 Tbsp. white sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Heat sugar, butter and water.

2Boil 10 minutes.

3Mix flour and 3 tablespoons butter with pastry blender.

4Add nuts, milk and vanilla;

5mix.

6Drop by tablespoon into boiling caramel sauce. Simmer, covered, 12 to 15 minutes.

7Do not uncover while cooking! Makes 10 to 12 dumplings.

8Serve with ice cream or Cool Whip.
