Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine

Directions

    Cook 1/2 cup sugar in electric skillet, stirring constantly until golden brown.

    Slowly add water, remaining sugar, vanilla and 2 tablespoons margarine.

    Boil until all ingredients are dissolved. Mix last 6 ingredients together and drop by tablespoon in boiling liquid.

    Cover and cook for 15 minutes on a medium to low heat. Serve hot or cold.

    Excellent with vanilla ice cream.
