- 1 1/2 c. half and half
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 lb. pecans or walnuts, chopped
Directions

2Combine 3/4 cup sugar, 2/3 cup syrup and 1/4 cup water in 1 1/2-quart pan.

3Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves;

4boil to 238° on candy thermometer.

5Pour over beaten egg whites, beating constantly until slightly cooled, about 5 minutes.

6Spoon into well-buttered bowl and make well in center. Let stand.
