Caramel Nut Pound Cake

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 lb. light brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 3/8 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. finely chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream butter, brown sugar and shortening. Gradually add white sugar and beat. Add eggs 1 at a time and beat. Combine baking powder, flour and salt. Add alternately with milk. Add vanilla and nuts. Blend well. Grease and flour pan. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Let cool 15 minutes and take out of pan.
