- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 box light brown sugar
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sweet milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans or chopped black walnuts
Directions

1Cream the butter and shortening; add brown sugar a little at a time; beat well.

2Add granulated sugar; beat until light and fluffy.

3Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

4Sift together dry ingredients; add alternately with milk.

5Add vanilla and nuts.

6Bake in tube pan for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325°.
