- 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. dark brown Karo
- 6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 c. walnut halves
Directions

1Combine sugar and syrup.

2Cook, stirring constantly, to 245° on candy thermometer.

3Stir in butter.

4Add milk slowly so mixture continues to boil and cook again to 245°.

5Remove from heat.

6Add vanilla and salt.

7Pour into well buttered 9 x 13-inch pan until firm.

8Spread walnuts on buttered waxed paper the size of pan. Turn candy (when cool) out on top of walnuts and press them in the candy.

9Roll as a jelly roll.

10Cut in sections and wrap in plastic wrap or waxed paper.

11Slice to serve.
