- 1 large c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. milk
Directions

1Mix cornstarch with 1 teaspoon sugar and egg yolks.

2Brown butter and sugar in pan until brown like light brown sugar.

3Add 3 cups of milk, stirring continually.

4Add about 1/2 cup of milk to cornstarch, sugar and egg mixture.

5Add this to milk and browned sugar mixture after it comes to a boil.

6Stir continually.

7Place caramel sauce in baked pie shell and top with meringue topping.
