- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. Karo syrup
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
- 3 to 4 qt. popcorn, salted
Directions

1Boil sugar, syrup, butter and cream of tartar for 5 minutes. Quickly stir in baking soda and vanilla (it will foam, but it's okay).

2Stir 10 minutes.

3Pour over popcorn; toss to cover and press into a greased jelly roll pan.

4Bake at 200° for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cut into hearts with a large cookie cutter. Return to 200° oven for 10 minutes.

5Wrap individually in tight plastic.
