  • 14 cups popped popcorn
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 sticks butter (1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup white corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups salted mixed nuts (optional)

Directions

    Place popcorn and nuts in a roasting pan with lid.

    In a saucepan bring sugar, butter and syrup to a rolling boil. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add baking soda, stir until frothy. Pour over popcorn, stir well. Cover and place in a 250 degree oven. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. After baking pour onto a cookie sheet to cool.
