- 5 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/3 c. onion, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. cornflake crumbs
- 1 c. American cheese, shredded
- 4 c. carrots, sliced (about 1 1/2 lb.), cooked and drained
Directions

1Melt 2 tablespoons margarine in small saucepan.

2Remove from heat.

3Add cornflake crumbs.

4Mix well.

5Set aside.

6Melt remaining margarine in large saucepan over low heat.

7Add onion and cook only until tender.

8Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Remove from heat and add milk, gradually stirring until smooth. Return to medium heat and cook until bubbly and thickened, stirring constantly.
