Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 c. creamed small curd cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 to 3 tsp. dill seed
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour
  • sea salt

Directions

    Soften yeast in water.

    Combine in bowl, next 8 ingredients. Add yeast mix.

    Start adding flour (at first with mixer) until all flour is added.

    Cover; let rise in warm place until light and doubled (50 to 60 minutes).

    Stir down dough.

    Put into well-buttered 8-inch round (1 1/2 to 2 quart) casserole dish.

    Let rise in warm place for 30 to 40 minutes.

    Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes, until golden brown.

    While still warm, brush with soft butter and sprinkle with sea salt.
