  • 2 gal. tomato juice
  • scant 1/4 c. salt
  • 6 medium onions
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 2 c. sugar

    Put onions in blender with a little juice.

    Boil all but vinegar and sugar down to half.

    Add vinegar and sugar.

    Boil until thick, stirring constantly.

    Yields 8 pints.
