Ingredients

  • 1 c. corn meal
  • 1 c. flour
  • 6 large or 8 medium eggs
  • 1 stick butter or oleo
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. coconut extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. brown sugar

    Sift dry ingredients together. Put aside.

    Melt butter; beat well with eggs.

    Mix in sugar, water, milk and rest of the ingredients.

    Blend with dry ingredients until smooth.

    Pour into ungreased 9 x 13-inch glass pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes at 350°. Custard should be lightly brown and will set as it cools.
