  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 tsp. soda

  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice

    In separate bowl, beat 2 cups molasses and 1 teaspoon soda until molasses turns a light beige color.

    Turn out on heavily floured board and knead 1/2 of the mixture at a time.
