Cheddar Biscuits (Easy)

Ingredients
- makes approx 20 biscuit
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 12 teaspoon fine salt
- 34 cup cold unsalted butter
- 1 cup 2% low-fat milk, plus extra milk for brushing
- 1 cup grated 2 year old cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375F and line a baking pan with parchment paper.

2Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

3Cut in butter with a pastry blender until texture is rough and crumbly.

4Add milk and combine just until dough comes together ( a few dry crumbs are okay).

5Stir in cheddar and basil.

6Turn dough onto a work surface and shape into a disc, flattening & folding as you combine.

7Divide dough into two discs and press or roll into 3/4 inch thickness.

8Cut into wedges or circles with cookie cutter and place on prepared baking tray.

9Brush with milk and bake for 20 minutes until light golden brown

10Alternatives (different cheeses, different herbs or just use pesto) I love bacon on these as well, just make sure they are well cooked first.
