Cheddar Cheese Soup

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. chopped carrots
  • 1/3 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped green onion
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 medium white onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. flour
  • 4 c. milk
  • 4 c. chicken broth
  • 1 (15 oz.) jar Cheez Whiz
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Boil carrots, celery and green onions in water for 5 minutes. Saute white onion in butter until translucent.

    Add flour and blend well.

    Boil chicken broth.

    Stir into onion mixture with a wire whisk.

    Add cheese, salt, pepper and vegetables (including water). Bring to a boil.

    Turn off heat.
