  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced carrots
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp sale
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cubed ham

Directions

    Combine water and vegetables in 4 quart saucepan or dutch oven. Bring to low boil and cook 10-12 minutes. Melt butter in a small saucepan. Add flour and stir until smooth. Slowly add milk and cook until thickened. Add cheese and cook, stirring, until melted. Add salt and pepper to milk-cheese mixture. Add ham to vegetables; stir sauce into vegetables. Heat through and serve.
