  • 3/4 c. quick grits
  • 3 c. water
  • 1/4 lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 3/4 stick margarine
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs or wheat germ or crushed corn flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • dash of Tabasco

Directions

    Cook grits, slowly stirring into boiling water, for 2 1/2 to 5 minutes.

    Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes.

    Melt Velveeta cheese and butter.
  4. 4
    Blend in egg and add to grits together with Tabasco; mix well.

    Pour into a greased casserole dish; sprinkle with paprika and crumbs.

    Cook in preheated oven at 325° for 20 minutes.

    Double recipe to serve 14.
