Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/8 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 whole eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. dry cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c. grated Cheddar
  • 1/2 c. chive-cottage cheese (or 2 c. dry with fresh chives)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 egg yolk

    Mix together.

    Place rounded teaspoonful of filling in center of dough squares.

    Bring up corners and pinch together.

    Boil pockets in large pan (salted water) for 10 minutes.

    Carefully lift out individually with slotted spoon.
