- 10 slices white bread, crusts removed
- 1/2 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- pinch of cayenne pepper
- 3 eggs
- butter (for bread)
Directions

1Butter bread.

2Place in stack and cut into slices, then in cubes.

3Place layer of bread in baking dish.

4Add layer of grated cheese, another layer of bread cubes and another layer of cheese. Add eggs and milk, mixed well with seasonings.

5Pour all over bread.

6Let stand overnight.

7Bake at 350° for 45 or 50 minutes. It rises high and fluffy.
