- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 c. grated American cheese
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 1/2 c. sifted Martha White plain flour
Directions

1Heat oven to 375°.

2Let butter come to room temperature. Cream butter and cheese together.

3Add salt and cayenne and work in flour.

4Cover and chill about 1 hour.

5Roll out on lightly floured cloth or board about 1/8 inch thick.

6Cut in sticks with a sharp knife or pastry wheel about 1/2 inch wide and 4 inches long. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes.

7Makes 4 dozen.
