  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 8 oz. shredded American cheese (2 c.)
  • 1/2 c. butter or oleo, softened
  • 1/4 c. onion flakes, soaked in 2 Tbsp. water

Directions

    Cut bread diagonally into 1-inch slices.

    Mix cheese and butter.

    Soften onion flakes in water; drain and stir into cheese mixture.

    Spread on the cut bread surfaces.

    Reassemble loaf and wrap in foil.

    Refrigerate no longer than 24 hours.

    Heat in a 400° oven until cheese is melted, approximately 25 minutes.
