- 1 loaf French bread
- 8 oz. shredded American cheese (2 c.)
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo, softened
- 1/4 c. onion flakes, soaked in 2 Tbsp. water
Directions

1Cut bread diagonally into 1-inch slices.

2Mix cheese and butter.

3Soften onion flakes in water; drain and stir into cheese mixture.

4Spread on the cut bread surfaces.

5Reassemble loaf and wrap in foil.

6Refrigerate no longer than 24 hours.

7Heat in a 400° oven until cheese is melted, approximately 25 minutes.
