  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. dried parsley
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tarter
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Jane's Krazy Mixed-Up salt
  • 1/3 c. Crisco
  • 8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2/3 to 1 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder

    Mix together the dry ingredients.

    Cut in Crisco until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

    Add cheese.

    Make a well in the center; add milk.

    Stir just until dough clings together.

    Knead gently on a lightly floured surface for 10 to 12 strokes.

    Roll or pat into 1/2-inch thickness.

    Cut into biscuits and transfer to an ungreased baking sheet.

    Top with mixture of 3 tablespoons melted butter, 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese and 1 teaspoon powdered garlic.

    Brush over tops of biscuits and bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
