  • 2 (9-inch) pie crusts
  • 1 can tart water packed cherries, drained
  • 1/2 pt. heavy whipping cream (not whipped)
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Place 1 (9-inch) crust in pie plate. Put cherries in pie shell.

    Combine remaining ingredients in bowl and mix well.

    Pour over cherries.

    Cut second pie crust into 1/2-inch strips.

    Weave top crust into lattice work.

    Bake 1 hour at 350°.
