- 1 c. butter
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 large egg, separated
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. finely chopped nuts
- 30 red candied cherries, halved
Directions

1Beat butter and cream cheese until soft and creamy; gradually add sugar.

2Add egg yolk with extract; mix well.

3Stir in flour. Cover and chill about 1 hour.

4Shape dough into 1-inch balls; dip tops in beaten egg white, then almonds.

5Place on lightly greased pan; press a cherry half in top and bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
