- 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. orange juice
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
- 3/4 c. finely chopped pecans
- 18 candied cherries, halved
Directions

1Cream together butter and sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk, lemon rind, lemon juice, orange juice and vanilla. Beat well.

2Gradually blend in flour; chill.

3Roll dough into 1-inch diameter balls; roll in nuts and place on buttered baking sheet.

4Press cherry half in center.

5Bake in preheated 350° oven 10 to 12 minutes.

6Remove to wire rack to cool.
